• Enter search terminology into the Search box at top left of the Home screen.
• Title, author/s, publication date and abstract for each publication satisfying the search criteria will be displayed.
• Click on the title link to view more information.

After displaying results of a simple search, you can use the ‘DISCOVER’ tool in the left menu to filter the results by:

• Author
• Faculty
• School
• Access Status
• Document Type
• Education Level
• Date Issued.

• Click on ‘Advanced search’ under the search box at top left of the Home screen.
• Enter keywords into the search box and click on ‘GO’.
• Brief results will be displayed.

• Click on ‘Show Advanced Filters’.
• Use the drop-down filters to further refine the search.
• To choose an additional field to search, click on the plus (+) button to add a filter row.
• When all search terms are entered, click on ‘Apply’.
• Alternate sorting options for the displayed results can be selected by clicking on the gear wheel icon.

Example The above search example filters for Document Type Thesis and Award PhD based on the keywords ‘Virtual classroom’.

The term Access Status on the item record indicates availability of files as follows:

• Open access – the publication may be viewed by the public
• Open access via publisher – the publication is not available via espace. Instead follow the DOI or URL link to access via the publisher’s website
• Fulltext not available – access to the publication is restricted, usually for copyright reasons.

Where there is an Embargo Lift Date on the item record, the publication may be accessed after this date has expired. If there is no Embargo Lift Date the publication is not available in espace. In this case follow the DOI or URL link (if provided) to locate the published version.

If the publication access status is Open access you may open and download the publication for research and study purposes. Other uses may be an infringement of copyright. Refer to applicable licence conditions for further content re-use terms.
